Laurel Quays is the former Fjordline building, named after Stan Laurel who lived in North Shields, near where the development is located.


The site is the former Fjordline office building on Coble Dene in the Royal Quays, North Shields. The site has key frontage towards Coble Dene which provides access Commissioners Quay and Albert Edward Dock.


The site borders existing housing to the north and east at Chirton Dene Quays, Commissioner’s Quay and the Royal Quays estate. The site borders Coble Dene to the north and west.


This is large public park with landscaped gardens and recreational pedestrian and cycle links to the River Tyne.

It is approximately 500m east of the Royal Quays retail park which also provides access to local bus services.

The site comprises of the existing former Fjordline office building which sits within an enclosed hard standing parking area and an associated area of soft landscaping and a electrical sub-station to the east.

The site is elevated above Albert Edward Dock and the river. It is located at the top of a wooded embankment above the existing housing on Commissioner’s Wharf and therefore enjoys long range views across the dock and
towards the mouth of the river Tyne.
